If it is used outdoors: Coroplast (hollow plastic board) is certainly better than foam board. The foam board is afraid of water and tide. It will become soft and rotten after a rain. The PP hollow board is waterproof, moisture-proof, and sun resistant. It can withstand outdoor wind and rain for several months without any problems. If you need to reuse: The hollow board can be wiped clean and stored away, and can be used again next time. The foam board is basically disposable, but it will break when removed.
If it is UV-resistant corrugated plastic signs, it can be used outdoors normally for two to three years. The color will not fade, and the board will not become brittle or crack. If the board you buy does not have UV resistant treatment, it will start to yellow after six months of sun exposure and may become brittle after about a year. In addition, boards with a thickness of over 4mm are more durable and have stronger wind resistance than those with a thickness of 2-3mm.

Choosing plastic corrugated signs is actually not complicated, but many people ask ‘which is the best’ at first, and there is no standard answer. It depends on where your project is being used, how long it will last, and what effect you want to achieve. Here are a few practical perspectives to help you sort it out.
1. First, let’s look at the purpose: indoor or outdoor?
This is the most fundamental judgment.
Outdoor use (outdoor billboards, property signs, political election signs, construction site warning signs): UV resistant corrugated plastic boards must be selected. The UV stabilizer we added can keep the board from fading or becoming brittle after being exposed to the sun for two to three years. If you buy the one without UV treatment, it will turn yellow and crack after six months.
Indoor use (exhibition display boards, POP displays, background boards): The requirements for weather resistance are not as high, but surface smoothness and printing effect are more important. Choose a PP corrugated sheet with corona treated surface for better printing adhesion and brighter colors.
2. Look at the size and thickness again: how long to use determines how thick to use
Many people think that thicker is better, but it’s not.
Recommended thickness for table application scenarios: Short term promotional signs (used for 1-3 months) with a thickness of 2mm to 3mm are sufficient for low cost and can be easily disposed of after use. Real estate agency signs and election signs (used for 3-6 months) with a thickness of 3mm to 4mm can withstand wind and rain without easily deforming. Long term outdoor advertising and construction site fences (used for more than six months) with a strength of 4mm to 5mm, strong wind resistance, and are not easily blown off or damaged. The larger the board of a large-sized sign (over 1.2 meters wide), the heavier its own weight, and if it is too thin, it will collapse downwards.
