The Materials of Corrugated Plastic Products
The materials of corrugated plastic products we use are 100% pure PP and imported pigment-grade colorants, without adding calcium carbonate fillers, and can be customized more functions according to your needs.
Main Material: PP (Polypropylene)
Corrugated Plastic is made of polypropylene (PP).
Virgin PP (Pure material)
Virgin PP is characterized by a pure white color, stable physical properties, high tensile strength, bending strength, and impact strength.
Why use 100% Virgin PP in our product:
- Printing: surface is smooth, ink adheres well, color is bright;
- Color stability: batch-to-batch color consistency without graying or yellowing;
- Mechanical properties: good rigidity and toughness preventing cracking and deformation;
- Certificates: Virgin materials easily meet the requirements of RoHS, REACH, FDA, and other certificates.
Therefore, the raw materials we use for corrugated plastic are 100% virgin PP, not recycled materials.
Color Masterbatch
The color masterbatch is a mixture of pigment and carrier resin.
Types of colorants:
- Black masterbatch: carbon black pigment, used in an amount of approximately 8–12% to get black corrugated plastic sheets;
- White masterbatch: Titanium dioxide (TiO2), added at around 8-10% to produce white boards. The whiteness of the compound depends directly on the quality of the titanium dioxide, and good-quality TiO2 has a better whitening effect and non-yellowing property.
- Color masterbatch: Various pigments, such as red, yellow, blue, green, etc., are added according to the target color and proportion, normally around 5-8%.
Our colorants: Imported pigment-grade colorants with bright colors, strong weatherability, and stability without fading in outdoor environments for 6 months.
Functional Additives
Depending on the expected application scenes, certain functional additives might be added to the formula:
- Anti-UV stabilizer (anti-UV agent):
Used in outdoor signage to avoid aging and fading due to exposure to sunlight.
- Anti-low-temperature:
Used in cold-region environments (such as Canada, Northern Europe, Russia) to avoid the cracking of the material in low temperatures.
- Anti-static :
Used as a packaging layer pad for electronic components to avoid static electricity damage.
- Food grade formulation:
Used in food contact scenarios, such as food packaging layer pads and food-contact corrugated plastic box.
Filling Material
There is a practice in the industry to add CaCO3 fillers in order to reduce the cost of products. However, the addition of CaCO3 increases the weight of the product but reduces its rigidity and toughness.
Our principle:
We do not manufacture boards filled with CaCO3, since our customers are printing factories, label makers, and corrugated plastic box distributors who need high-quality corrugated plastic products. However, if a low-cost PP corrugated board is specifically required, we can supply it with CaCO3 fillers but inform them of possible disadvantages.
